The Neighborhood Watch Program is the police department's official effort aimed at helping citizens deter crime in their neighborhood.
Who can help?
Anyone who wants to help create/maintain a safer neighborhood for their family and property.
What can I do?
- Promote the watch by adding your contact information to the sign-up sheet when it is presented, or by e-mailing the chairperson.
- Keep you eyes open and be willing to communicate with police or a block captain.
- Take on a role as a volunteer or block captain.
Do I get paid?
You won't get a check, but the benefits may be more substantial than you would expect. Property values in crime-free neighborhoods allow our home's market value to increase at a higher rate. We also live with a greater peace of mind that our homes, our property and our loved ones are safer.
How can I start a neighborhood watch in my own neighborhood?
It isn't difficutl, it just takes a little dedicated effort. Following the easy step-by-step instruction accessible through the Watch Start-up page will help ensure success from your efforts.
